BARKSDALE AFB, LA (KSLA) -

Officials at Barksdale Air Force Base have confirmed to KSLA News 12 that the air show has been canceled for Sunday due to the threat of severe weather.

A spokesperson for 2nd Bomb Wing Public Affairs said in a brief statement confirming the cancellation that "This decision was made for the safety of all performers and the visitors who come to support Barksdale AFB."

The 2014 Defenders of Liberty Air Show got under way Saturday morning under blue skies and breezy conditions. By some estimates, there were more than 100,000 in attendance.
