CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Chesterfield burglar strikes while woman sleeps

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Home video captures a bold thief going through a Chesterfield woman's car and then canvassing her Falling Creek Circle home while she sleeps! Police say the suspect took credit cards and cash.

Officers say the suspect then went straight to the nearby 7-Eleven. Police say he tried to use those stolen credit cards.

"Nowhere is safe anymore," said homeowner Tiffany Bowles who could not believe her eyes. "You are on camera. We got you!"

Bowles was shocked to see the crook ignore the motion lights and get right in her car.

"You can see in the video he is on his tip toes walking around the driveway," said Bowles.

The time stamp shows the crook struck around 12:47 AM while Bowles was sleeping.

"It is very nerve-wracking because you would think being home you are safe," said Bowles. "But you are really not."

When Bowles learned there might be surveillance images of the suspect attempting to use her stolen credit card she called 12 On Your Side.

"Because everybody reaches out to Channel 12," said Bowles. "Pretty much call 12...see what happens."

We got our hands on those surveillance images from the 7-Eleven along the 4700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. If you have any information call Crime Solvers at 748-0660.
