Bossier Police: Traffic flow at west gate of BAFB changing during air show

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Bossier City police have created a traffic flow to keep cars from causing congestion during the upcoming air show at Barksdale Air Force Base.

The gates will open for the Defenders of Liberty Air Show at 9 a.m. on April 26 and 27. Traffic entering the base from the west gate on Barksdale Boulevard will follow the normal traffic routes. After the show, that gate will only allow for outgoing traffic.

This configuration may go into effect as early as 3 p.m. on both days and could last until most visiting vehicles have left the base.

Traffic flow for those entering and exiting the base from other access points will not change.

BCPD cautions that there may be traffic delays during the show on roads around the base, especially along Barksdale Boulevard. If you're not going to the show, police suggest using Arthur Ray Teague parkway as an alternative north-south route instead.
