Nationwide truck wraps manufacturer JMR Graphics responds to an article discussing the use of advertising, technology, and social media to jumpstart a German initiative to find missing children

BOHEMIA, NY / www.myprgenie.com / ACCESSWIRE / April 18, 2014 / JMR Graphics, a nationwide truck wraps manufacturer, comments on an article discussing how German advertising agency, thjnk, has come together with Missing Children, an initiative that helps families with missing children, to create this billboard initiative.

According to an article published by takepart on April 1st titled, “These Fab Sidewalk Billboards Put Missing Kids’ Faces in Front of Pedestrians,” every year 800,000 children go missing all over the world. Germany advertising agency thjnk and Missing Children have created an initiative that helps share information about missing children. The initiative uses both digital billboards and social media to help find missing children.

The digital billboard starts as a blank white screen, which can very easily catch a person’s eye. A second transparent screen turns on, which displays an image similar to an entry on Missing Children’s Facebook page, complete with a picture and information about the child. The reasoning behind this initiative is to share information about missing children more quickly and effectively in an effort to help find them and get them back to their families safely and soundly.

TJ Panell, a representative from nationwide truck wraps manufacturer JMR Graphics, says, “Utilizing out of home advertising methods is perhaps one of the best ways to help in the search for missing children. They can be placed in strategic locations around relevant areas and can be seen by nearly all residents of a certain area. They can help provide information about missing children, such as what they look like.”
