(WMC-TV) - An 81-year-old woman was beaten inside her home. She is recovering at the Regional Medical Center.
Police arrested the men they say are responsible. Neighbors say one suspect lived just around the corner.
Neighbor Rebecca Creasy is relieved.
"It was very frightening what they did. It was horrible," she said.
She lives two doors down from the 81-year-old woman, who was attacked this week.
"I heard the scream, and I pushed my security alarm and called the police and told them about it," said Casey.
Police arrested 19-year-old Terrio Pope and 17-year-old Ramon Huntley on Wednesday. Both are charged with aggravated residential burglary, first-degree battery, and robbery.
Sarah Sykes says the woman takes her son to church every Sunday, and that one of the suspects lived right next door, just down the street from the woman who was attacked.
"I can't believe they did that to an elderly woman, she was in such good shape, she cut her yard. When the storm happened she was cleaning up all this debris." said neighbor David Ohman.
Everyone continues to ask why anyone would attack their neighbor.
Pope and Huntley are being held in the Crittenden County Detention Center on $350,000 bonds. Both are being charged as adults.
Valley Head police confirm a mother and her young daughter were killed in separate vehicle wrecks Tuesday afternoon.
