Authorities investigating possible connection between ETX home invasions

Officials are searching for three men who broke into a home in northern Gregg County, tied up the homeowners and robbed them on Tuesday night.

Gregg County Sheriff Maxey Cerliano said the armed suspects, dressed in black suits and hoods, broke into the home around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The men tied up the two homeowners, then went through the home looking for valuables. After about thirty minutes, the men fled, leaving the two residents unharmed.

Authorities are not releasing any details about the suspect's vehicle at this time.

Investigators from Gregg and Rusk Counties are working together to determine if this home invasion is linked to another home invasion in Leverett's Chapel on Monday evening.

Sergeant David Roberts with the Rusk County Sheriff's Office says that there are things people can do to protect themselves and their homes from invasions like these. Roberts says to lock your doors, and leave your outside lights on. He also says that if you hear dogs barking outside, don't go to investigate. But if you do have to go outside for any reason, don't go alone.

The homeowners requested to remain anonymous. An inventory of stolen items is underway.

Anyone with information about this case are asked to contact Investigator David Falco at (903) 236-8438 or Crime Stoppers at (903) 236-STOP.
