Bossier neighbors angry after neighborhood torn up

Bossier Parish neighbors are angry after waking up to discover their yard and mailboxes were destroyed after someone ripped through their neighborhood.

It happened right off of Highway 80 on the 1000 block of Mack Drive in the Haughton area of Bossier Parish.

"The whole fence is down, whoever did this, made a mess" said Teresa Turner, who explained she and her neighbors woke up to the nasty surprise Monday morning.

"We are going to have to repair mailboxes, mailbox stands, we've got to repair the grass, we've got to repair the fence, we've got to repair flower beds, this isn't cheap work to do," she said.

Turner believes an 18-wheeler tried to make a U-turn on their dead end street and didn't make it without hitting anything.

"You can see his marks they are going all the way through inside up to the trailer," Turner said.

Neighbor Susan Neal said she even saw an 18-wheeler truck driving off the same morning.

"I saw a white truck with red and blue stripes on it then I saw the flat bed," she said. "But when I looked out I didn't see all of this damage because it was dark out."

The neighbors filed a police report and a spokesman with the sheriff's office said they are investigating the situation.

Turner wants the person responsible to step forward.

"To whoever did this, I don't appreciate what you done," she said. "I hope and pray you are caught."
