Three light poles left standing at a high school track and field in Southwest Arkansas are structurally sound.
A fourth pole, which toppled onto a van last week in the parking lot of Scrapper Stadium in Nashville, AR, is also sound, high school engineers said.
The 90 foot pole loaded with large lights crushed the Toyota minivan, totaling it. Valerie Barnes, 50 of Texarkana, who was sitting inside the van, walked away with only minor injuries.
Engineers said the wind, which was clocked at 20 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph, was responsible for the crash.
The poles are used to light the football field, and have been in place since the mid-90s.
