Toledo call center hiring 100 to 150 new employees

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A rapidly growing Toledo call center is hiring again; this time bringing in 100 to 150 new employees.

Universal Marketing Group is a call center located on Airport Highway. The company takes national calls for products advertised on infomercial.

Over the last 10 years, the company grown so large it can hire up to 100 employees at a time to meet demand.

The center fields calls from popular products like P90X, the Nuwave oven, My Pillow and much more. On a busy day, the center can handle almost 300 calls at a time. To keep up with the demand, they're hiring.

Just three years ago UMG employed about 75 people. That number has risen to 450.

Now the company is looking to add 100 to 150 more people. Employees at UMG get full benefits, including paid vacation and health insurance. The positions are commission based but the average is about $15 and hour for an employee.

Company leaders say they owe the growth to good employees who know what they're selling. They say their expansion won't be over after this latest round of hiring either.

"The goal is to certainly, actually double in size over the next two or three years from where we are right now, to get us to the 800 volume employee level," said UMG Human Resources Manger Sean Parker.

The group is looking to hire their new 100 to 150 employees over the next few weeks.
