BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Two Bossier City teens have been arrested for allegedly snatching a purse from an elderly woman Thursday near E. Texas Street.

The 93-year-old woman was injured in the fray.

Police said Kinyon Tirrel Johnson, 17 and a 15-year-old boy were arrested for the theft, which happened just after 9 a.m. in the 700 block of Shaver Street.

The victim was pushing a shopping cart with groceries when the two allegedly took her purse from inside the cart. The purse strap was looped around her arm, and the incident caused the woman to fall to the pavement. She was scraped and bruised as a result, police said.

She walked to a nearby business to report the crime. Bossier police found evidence linking the boys to the snatching.

Johnson is being held at the Bossier City Jail. The younger boy was taken to the Ware Juvenile Detention Center due to his age.
