Richmond family of deadly triple-shooting victim says goodbye

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond police are working to track down the suspect behind a deadly triple shooting, as a family gives a painful goodbye to a father of four. Dozens of relatives and friends of Kiarri Edwards, 34, gathered on Dinwiddie Avenue, Sunday evening. The crowd stood in front of the home where he was shot and killed. Two others were hit in that shooting, as well, but survived.

Kiarri's family wants the person who killed him, or anyone who may know anything about the shooting, to come forward. They also want Kiarri to know how much he will forever be loved.

The devastation could be felt through Nikki Jackson's resounding song. Her brother's life was suddenly taken. His four daughters are now left fatherless.

"I'm angry. I'm crying. I can't sleep," described Jackson.

The crowd prayed to heal the family and community, stricken by the loss.

"He was a real family man. He loved his kids. Anything anybody needed, he was always there for anybody," said Latoya Wilson, another sister of Kiarri.

The community is praying to help detectives bring justice. Kiarri's family is calling for the person who pulled the trigger, to face the tragedy they caused

"Come forth, because what you have done... You have not hurt one. You have hurt a community. You have hurt family and friends. You have hurt daughters," continued Jackson.

Anyone with information is begged to anonymously reveal what they know. Meantime, as Kiarri's loved ones wait for answers, they will cling tightly to one another.

"I got your kids no matter what. I love them to death," added Latoya, through tears, hoping her brother could hear her promise.

Police say they are following strong leads, but have not made any arrests. Investigators also do not believe this shooting is random.

Anyone can leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
