Bossier Parish (KSLA) -

A young girl was standing at the bus stop in Bossier Parish earlier this week when she was reportedly attacked by a dog, but was apparently able to fight it off.

Jason Graham said he saw his neighbor's Rottweiler charge at his 11-year-old daughter Monday morning as she waited at the stop on Golden Eye Drive in Princeton.

"She had her hands right here and the dog's paws were right here," Graham said.

The father ran to the bus stop and was able to fight the dog off his daughter, and wrestle the it back to his neighbor's house.

"Every time he is grabbing this arm, and putting it in his mouth," he said.

He has photographs of scratches he says are from the attack.

The incident was reported to the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office and the owner of the dog was cited under the parish's "Seizure and Impoundment of dogs running at Large" ordinance.

Under this ordinance, if a dog is found unaccompanied by its owner, it can be quarantined for up to seven days, but the owner will get the dog back.

Bossier City, Shreveport, and Marshall all have very similar ordinances on the books.
