New tornado watches issued for much of the ArkLaTex

(KSLA) -

The NWS has issued a new Tornado Watch until 4 AM for most of the ArkLaTex. Strong storms that tracked through the DFW Metroplex earlier tonight are now approaching our area.

So far, the storms have been slow to develop, staying further west and fewer in number than we had anticipated.  There is still a lot of warmth and humidity combined with a strong wind out of the south.  That means storms are still possible this evening and overnight.

All of this clears out by Friday afternoon, setting up a nice start to the weekend.  Highs on Friday are in the upper 60s.  Lows Saturday morning are in the mid 40s.

Clouds move in for Saturday with highs near 70. Rain develops overnight into Sunday with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s.
