For the third year in a row Shreveport's mayor is creating a larger job pool for the city's youth.
The summer job program was expanded again this year by Mayor Cedric Glover and will hire young adults between the ages of 16 and 21.
The program is coordinated by the Department of Community Development. Participants work at jobs serving as clerical aides, recreation aides, accounting clerks to library aides, tutors and maintenance assistants.
It will also include internships designed for college students who will be placed in a number of city departments.
Applications can be picked up at any SPAR Neighborhood Center. The deadline to turn in the application is April 30.
