CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A stretch of Highway 1 in Caddo Parish is shut down after three 18-wheelers crashed Wednesday morning.

Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputies say it happened around 3:15 a.m. on Highway 1 near Tones Bayou just south of the Shreveport city limits. Deputies say the first rig was carrying an oil and sand mix and collided with a tanker truck carrying hydrosol fuel as it was turning into Relay station. The tank was punctured and all of the liquid was released onto the roadway. A third rig was bumped during the initial accident.

Deputies say more than 6,000 gallons of hydrosol spilled onto the roadway. Deputies say the fuel is not dangerous.

Deputies say the northbound lane of Highway 1 is closed in Caddo Parish as they work to clear the scene. The lane is expected to be closed for several hours.

Only minor injuries were reported.
