Woman injured after train backs into car in Downtown Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

An elderly woman was injured after train backed into a car in Downtown Shreveport Wednesday morning.

Shreveport police say it happened around 2:30 a.m. at the train tracks on Fannin and Commerce streets. Police say an elderly couple claims they were leaving a casino and didn't see a train backing up as they crossed the tracks. The train was moving slowly and pushed the car.

Police say the woman in the passenger seat was cut but it was non-life threatening. No citations have been issued.

Amazingly, the couple was able to drive the car home.
