Bossier police recover large amount of pot during arrest

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Bossier City police made an arrest overnight and seized a large amount of illegal drugs in the process.

Kedrick Joseph, 29 of Bossier City was pulled over in a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire he was driving near the intersection of McDade and Barbara streets just before midnight Monday.

Police said officers smelled an odor of burnt marijuana from inside the car when they made the stop. They then found 215 grams of what they are calling "high grade" marijuana valued at more than $5,000.

Officers also found 20 ecstasy tablets in the car.

Joseph is being held at the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of ecstasy. Bond is listed at more than $40,000.
