DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport man charged in connection with a wreck that seriously injured another driver has been identified as Shreveport attorney Joseph Hendrix.

The crash happened Saturday around 8:00 p.m. on Highway 84 in DeSoto Parish.  Louisiana State Police say Hendrix pulled out in front of a mack truck, causing it to overturn.

The driver of the tractor trailer, 56-year-old Arnold Fitzgerald of Tenaha, TX, was airlifted to University Health Shreveport with severe head injuries. Fitzgerald is listed in critical condition. Both men were wearing seatbelts.

Trooper Davis says it appears that impairment may have been a factor in the crash.  A commercial posted on YouTube advertising Joey W. Hendrix Attorney at Law says he specializes in DWI defense.

Hendrix was arrested and booked into the DeSoto Parish Jail on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, vehicular negligent driving and failure to yield from a private drive.  As of Monday morning he had already bonded out.
