SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have arrested a second man in connection with a shooting that wounded a man earlier this month.

On March 6, police were called to University Health Medical Center in regards to a 19-year-old man who arrived at the hospital's emergency suffering a single gunshot wound to the leg. Ron Douglas and some of his associates told police Douglas was shot while standing outside a house in the 1500 block of West 58th Street.

Police say they claimed three men in a dark colored, four-door sedan drove up and started firing at Douglas before fleeing.

Detectives from Shreveport's Violent Crimes Unit investigating the case found that Douglas had been shot accidentally by a friend and that the story they were given had been fabricated.

Police previously arrested 21-year-old Trey Hart in connection with Douglas' shooting. They also learned that a second man, 20-year-old Reginald Williams was also involved in fabricating the story that was given to investigators.

Now, Williams is charged with accessory after the fact to illegal use of a weapon. Williams was booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Police say they expect more arrests will be made.
