SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA/KTVT) -

A Texas man wanted for the murder of a woman and her unborn child was captured early Tuesday morning at a Shreveport Walmart.

U.S. Marshals with Shreveport police picked up 26-year-old Robert Atlas of Bedford, TX, while he was sleeping in his car in the parking lot of the Walmart on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

According to CBS affiliate KTVT in Fort Worth, 27-year-old Tracy Anderson was found stabbed to death Sunday afternoon in the apartment she shared with Atlas.

Initially, police were unable to find Atlas, but were immediately concerned for his welfare because the apartment looked like it had been broken into. He later became a suspect in the deaths of Anderson and her unborn child.

Authorities told KTVT Atlas had just moved into the apartment with Anderson about three weeks ago.

Atlas is being held at the Caddo Correctional Center without bond, listed as an out-of-state fugitive. He is waiting extradition back to Texas, where he will face a capital murder charge.
