Grass fire in west Shreveport tapped out

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport fire crews took more than an hour to bring a grass fire under control.

It happened around 4:45 p.m. in an area behind Pinecrest Mobile Home Park on Jefferson-Paige Road.

Firefighters managed to douse the flames of the fire after battling it for more than an hour Sunday afternoon.

The Forestry Service will come out and bulldoze the area to ensure that the fire does not rekindle.

There were no injuries reported.
