SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A Shreveport woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man with a kitchen knife while he slept, and it was a suspicious person's call to police that led to her arrest.

Police responded to a call of a suspicious person just before 8 a.m. Friday at a home in the 300 block of Herndon Avenue in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood. When officers arrived at the house, they found 41-year-old Sonya Hayes sitting on the front steps. Hayes was taken into custody without incident.

Police had been looking for Hayes in connection with a stabbing that happened just after 4 a.m. Friday at that same house. Hayes is accused of stabbing 52-year-old Herman Davis while he slept.

Davis was treated for minor injuries at University Health Medical Center, where he's expected to make a full recovery.

Hayes was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on aggravated battery.
