SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have made 2 arrests in connection with the thefts of thousands of dollars in electronics from a local elementary school.

A charging cart loaded with more than 30 iPads was taken from a classroom at Oak Park Elementary School late on the night of January 23, 2014. It was the second theft from the school in less than 2 months, resulting in a loss of more than $30,000 in electronics. Computers were stolen from the school on December 15.

Surveillance video from the January burglary was released as police sought to identify the bandits. Police point out that they even offered an amnesty period in their efforts to recover the stolen merchandise. No one came forward.

During that amnesty period, police say two iPads stolen during the burglary were recovered from sources with no established link to the thefts. As the probe into the stolen tablets continued, investigators gathered information and evidence which ultimately led to the arrest to 2 local men.

Zacaria Williams, 18 and Cadarrion Robinson, 19 both of Shreveport, were linked to the stolen iPads.

Williams faces charges of illegal possession of stolen things, while Robinson has been charged with 2 counts of simple burglary. Police say they are confident more arrests will be made in the case as the investigation continues.
