KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A Kansas City gym is working to get a British-based company to remove the image of one their clients from promotional material for a weight loss supplement.

Hitch Fit Gym owner Micah Lacerte said Garcinia Cambogia Australia and USA illegally posted before and after pictures of Brandi, a client he personally trained.

"It was surprising," Lacerte said. "It's very frustrating."

Lacerte found out about Garcinia Cambogia falsely using the image after Hitch Fit supporters emailed him and posted messages on the gym's Facebook page.

Lacerte says Brandi never used the supplement and neither he nor Brandi, who declined comment for this story, gave the company permission to use her image.

"We teach how to work hard, how to eat right, how to make the right choices and when a company goes and steals something that was ours and slap their label on that and try to sell product ... it is wrong. It is unethical. It is illegal," Lacerte said.

Lacerte called the London-based company and told them to remove the image, which it has yet to do. After five days, he called again, recorded that phone call and posted it on YouTube in an effort to put pressure on the company. He has also contacted a lawyer.

"I'm going to continue calling this company until I take it down and take it even steps further through social media," he said.

KCTV5 News contacted the company for comment. No one returned our calls or emails.
