The New Orleans Saints announced the signing of fullback Erik Lorig to a four-year contract Tuesday afternoon.
The 6'4", 250-pound fullback played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2010-2013.
He was picked in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Stanford University.
Lorig was originally drafted as a defensive end and converted to fullback/tight end early in his rookie season.
The addition of Lorig to the Saints roster could signal the end of popular fullback Jed Collins' playing days in New Orleans.
Collins was reportedly in Detroit Tuesday visiting with Lions.
