Students at a Shreveport education center took a bite out of learning math Friday by memorializing an infinite integer.

Friday, March 14, is Pi Day, an annual celebration of a circular solution. At Learning Rx, students feted the number 3.14, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, with a feast of real pie.

As a way to help train their brains, students at small blueberry and peach and slices of pizza as part of a contest. The goal was to eat the pie in the time closest to three minutes and 14 seconds, or 3:14, said Donesha Walker, executive director of Learning Rx.

The students would then stand along the "pie line," a sash of paper with numbers on it, by the number corresponding to their time.

Computers have calculated pi to its two quadrillionth digit. March 14 is also the birthday of Albert Einstein.
