Shreveport police are searching for suspects in a shooting late Tuesday night at a Cedar Grove apartment complex that left one man wounded.
25-year-old William Ardison suffered a grazing gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what are described by police as non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting happened just before 11 p.m at the Kings Manor I apartments in the 7200 block of Bernstein Ave. According to SPD Cpl. Marcus Hines, officers gathered information that indicates the victim was sitting with a group of people outside an apartment, when at least two men masked men approached the group armed with handguns and demanded money.
Hines says there was an exchange of gunfire between the would-be robbers and the group of people sitting outside the apartment. The two masked men reportedly fled the scene of the crime on foot. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators are working to develop leads in the case that will ultimately lead to the identification and arrest of those responsible for the crime, Hines says.
