Bumpy road leads to resident anger

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Residents in a Caddo Parish community say they are fed up with the bumpy road that leads to their homes.

Living on Gallemore Lane in Caddo Parish is not an easy task, says homeowner Paige Head. Head says the road has been left abandoned by the land developer.

"When everything was sold, it was never recognized again it needed to be kept up," says Paige Head.

Head says when she first purchased the land she was told the road would be paved by developer Steve Gross Homes, but 7 years later it remains unpaved.

"I replaced all my shocks on my truck in August, and by November I had already bust the brand-new shock on it," says resident Frank Launer. Launer says the potholes on the road have damaged many of his vehicles.

KSLA News 12 spoke with Caddo Parish Public Works about the issue, and we were told that the road is indeed privately owned and the Parish is not responsible for private roads.

Residents say they are not getting answers even after reaching out the developer.

"He is never around he is always out of town," says Paige Head.

"He is never in the office, and when you call there he never returns the phone call," says Frank Launer.

KSLA News 12 reached out to Steve Gross Homes to discuss this issue and we are still waiting on a phone call back.
