WEBSTER PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

An accident in Webster parish claimed the life of a Princeton man Sunday evening.

It happened just after 5 p.m. on Interstate 20 near mile marker 40.

Louisiana State Police say the driver, Joseph Abel, 46, was westbound on I-20 and lost control of his red Toyota Yaris while trying to pass slower moving vehicles.  The car hit a fence and rolled several times before landing upside down in a ditch.

Abel was transported to a hospital in Shreveport where he was pronounced dead.  His wife, Kimberly Abel, 36, was a passenger in the car and suffered only minor injuries.

Both victims were wearing their seatbelts, troopers said.
