OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

Finding your purpose in life can be difficult and it is something we all struggle with. At Crossroads Church of Nazarene, alumni attended the 49th annual homecoming celebration for the Home of Grace addiction program Saturday.

Alumni were able to share and celebrate their testimonies. Around 200 Home of Grace addiction recovery alumni came out to celebrate their time living free of drugs and alcohol.

Most importantly alumni, along with their families and friends, got a chance to share all of what God has done in their life since graduating.

Executive Director Josh Barton said 49 years after his father started the ministry, his legacy lives on.

"We just help build the bridge for these individuals to be able to go back out into society and live for the lord. Do good things," Barton said.

Building that bridge for people means helping them find their purpose.

"We take individuals that have kind of lost purpose. Lost their hope, lost their direction, and we help them find their purpose. As a Christian organization, point them to Christ. One of the things that's made Home of Grace so successful, and what you'll find here today, is they have found a new purpose. A purpose in the lord," Barton said.

Alumnus Loren Carriere says Home of Grace is more of a ministry, not a program. Through the ministry, he's been able to find a new, clean life.

"The Home of Grace is like a spiritual home for me. I found a new life here for myself. It's hard to even remember what life was like before this transitional point, so the Home of Grace is a new home for me. It's been that way for years," Carriere said.

Still today, Carriere holds with him the name Home of Grace and remembers how it has changed his life and helped him find his purpose.

"God loves broken people. That's what he does. He loved me, and that's the love that changed my life," Carriere said.

Barton says the theme "run with purpose" stands as a daily reminder to live out your calling for Christ.
