A strong arctic cold front has moved through the entire ArkLaTex, and is now posing a freezing rain, sleet, and snow threat for some of the areas mentioned above. Freezing rain and sleet accumulations are already being reported from much of NE TX, SE OK, and SW AR. This means driving conditions are and will be more dangerous overnight and in the morning.
Farther south, in the East Texas and Northwest Louisiana, temperatures are very close to freezing and will drop below freezing by morning. Light freezing drizzle and sleet may persist until 6am. Some light accumulations of ice, and maybe a few sleet pellets will be possible. At this time, it does not appear that there will be enough accumulations to close any roads, but please drive carefully just in case any "black ice" does develop on overpasses and bridges.
Skies will gradually clear Monday leading to a mostly sunny afternoon, but temperatures will struggle to warm into the upper 30s at best. In addition, winds will continue to blow between 15-25 mph overnight and between10-15 mph Monday. So bundle up to protect yourself from brutal "feels like" temperatures.
