JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A garden party helped raise funds for a special needs school in Jackson.

It was an afternoon of hors d'oeuvres and tea and hats and bow ties during Saturday's annual Garden Party Fundraiser for the Little Light House of Central Mississippi.

The benefit was held at Briarwood Presbyterian Church.

The Little Light House is a non profit special needs developmental center for children from birth to six years old.

A fourth classroom recently opened which provides services for eight more families.

"It means life change. they're able to get therapy for free and it really helps their development, and some of these kids are reaching goals that doctors told them they would never reach," said event coordinator Hayley Scoggin.

This was the ninth year the fundraiser has been held.
