SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Shreveport police investigators are seeking the identity of a woman captured on surveillance video who is believed to have robbed an elderly woman Thursday afternoon in South Shreveport.
Just after 4:00 p.m. on February 27, 2014, Shreveport police were called to the 7000 block of Youree Drive following reports that a 61-year-old woman had been maced in the eyes and had her purse stolen by 2 women who fled the scene of the crime in a silver vehicle with temporary plates.
The elderly woman was not seriously injured.
Following the theft, the duo was spotted in Bossier City Louisiana attempting to use the victim's stolen credit card at a mall retailer. During the ordeal, Bossier City police say they arrested one of the women, 18-year-old Alexandria Levy of the 600 block of Seneca Trail in Shreveport. Levy was later booked into the Bossier Jail.
A second woman who was with Levy reportedly fled from officers on foot, evading capture. Police say evidence and information gathered during the investigation has linked the woman to the crime.
Police are hopeful surveillance images recovered during the inquiry will lead to the identity of the second woman with involvement in the crime.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the woman captured in the video are asked to contact Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org Crimes Stoppers is offering a $300.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
