MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) -

Police in Marshall say the death of a local woman whose body was found Saturday in the woods near her home was not the result of a homicide, but that she wasn't alone when she died.

52-year-old Leonard was found dead Saturday night just off Scotts Quarters Road near Loop 390 and Harleton Rd. Her purse was underneath her, and her cell phone and one shoe were off to the side.

According to Marshall police Det. Sonya Johnson, initial autopsy results indicate that Leonard was not the victim of a homicide. However, they do not yet know the cause of her death. Investigators are still waiting for toxicology results.

Police say they believe someone was with Leonard at the time of her death, and that person placed her body in the woods where the body was found.

As they investigation continues, police are looking to speak with that person and for any information on Leonard's last whereabouts.

While they say they do have a few leads, they are also asking anyone who saw anything on that stretch of road or saw Leonard that day to come forward and call the Marshall Police Department at 903-935-4578 or Crimestoppers at 903-935-9969.
