SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
Children of Shreveport's Providence House celebrated Mardi Gras Friday morning with a parade of their own.
Ages 1 to 4, they dressed in brightly colored costumes as part of the Providence House Child Development Center's Mardi Gras parade. The parade route was down Cotton Street, which was closed from Common to Texas Street.
The pre-school children were arranged in "krewes." They laughed and smiled, some holding hands as they rolled in front of the Center, throwing beads and candy to those in attendance.
Providence House provides services for families that are homeless with children who are minors.
