A 2-year-old boy has been taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital for evaluation after he was found submerged in a pool in north Phoenix late Thursday morning.
Phoenix fire officials said there was a fence around the pool but investigators believe the child crawled under a broken portion of the fence near Seventh Street and Union Hills Drive.
The boy's mother performed CPR after the toddler was discovered floating in the pool.
Phoenix fire spokesman Capt. Tony Mure said the boy was responsive and crying when he was taken to the hospital.
