ATHENS, GA (RNN) - The Missouri Tigers found another tough SEC opponent in the Georgia Bulldogs, losing in Athens 71-56 Tuesday night.

The Tigers (19-9) now fall to 7-8 in conference play, while the Bulldogs (16-11, 10-5 SEC) stand in third place in the SEC standings. The victory is a series sweep for Georgia after breaking Mizzou's 26-home winning streak on Jan. 8. The Tigers are 2-6 on the road in SEC play this season.

Missouri trailed by just one point midway through the first half, but Georgia began to pull away after guard Kenny Gaines made an assisted layup after two failed 3-pointers. After leading by nine to begin the second half, Georgia's lead proved insurmountable.

Guard Charles Mann was Georgia's leading scorer with 19 points, followed by forward Marcus Thorton with 15 points. Both guard Jordan Clarkson and forward Ryan Rosburg scored 17 points for the Tigers in the loss.

Missouri struggled from downtown, going three of 18 from 3-point range. The Tigers shot 79.2 percent from the foul line and 17 of 53 from the floor. Georgia, the SEC's worst shooting team on the floor (.438), shot 52 percent from the floor and 61.5 percent from field goal range.

Next up: Georgia heads to Fayetteville, AR, on Saturday to face Arkansas at 4 p.m. ET; Missouri will return to Columbia, MO, to host the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. ET tipoff.
