LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The Kentucky Derby Festival announces another exciting military air act scheduled for this year's Thunder Over Louisville.

KDF confirmed the United States Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team will take to the skies to perform an air show the afternoon of Saturday, April 12.

According to KDF, the F-22 Raptor is the Air Force's newest fighter aircraft. The demonstration is a single-ship performance of precision aerial maneuvers to show the aircraft's unique capabilities of stealth and maneuverability.

"Thunder Over Louisville and the Kentucky Derby Festival have always enjoyed great support from all branches of the military," said Mike Berry, KDF President and CEO. "We're thrilled that more military will be able to participate in the 25th Thunder Show, making it even more spectacular."

KDF previously announced the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will also perform at Thunder Over Louisville. Other acts are still being decided and will be announced as they are confirmed.

The 2014 Thunder Over Louisville, themed "Throwback Thunder," is set for Saturday, April 12. WAVE 3 News is the official broadcast partner of Thunder Over Louisville's 2014.
