The 2014 Shreveport 6th annual St. Patrick's Day parade has been canceled due funding and planning issues.
4 Shreveport Parade Chairman Emily Welch confirms the organization will be unable to proceed with parade that was scheduled to roll in the Broadmoor neighborhood on Saturday, March 15th.
The parade has raised over $7000 for its chosen charity of the year which have included Right to Play Playground, The Reach Out to Read Program, Peter Pan Players, Shriner's
Hospital of Shreveport and Volunteers for Youth Justice/CASA. Despite the cancellation of the parade 4Shreveport plans to make cash donations to Meals on Wheels and Girls on the Run Shreveport.
4Shreveport hopes to be able to revive the parade in the coming years. Anyone who is interested in joining 4Shreveport or becoming a personal or business sponsor should contact the planning committee.
