BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Finishing touches are being completed on a $1 million South Bossier sports complex called "South Bossier Park."

The new park is located off of Caplis Sligo road in Bossier Parish on 80 acres of land. The mega sports complex will include several baseball, soccer, and football fields. Fences are now installed around the fields, contractors could be seen Monday mowing the grass of the expansive fields.

Construction for the park was delayed for most of 2013 because drought conditions made it difficult to grow grass.

Bossier Parish Engineer Butch Ford says there are a few more things left to do before they can open officially, like put up goal posts and signs. An official opening date hasn't been set yet, but the date could be set within the next week, according to Ford.
