SPD seeks ID of suspect in Sam's Town musical instrument theft

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police are asking for help from the public in identifying the person who stole musical instruments from a local casino.

Police say it happened around 3 a.m. on Valentines' Day, February 14 at Sam's Town Casino.

The man suspected in the theft can be seen on the casino's surveillance video entering the main floor where bands entertain. Police say the man stole an Egnater amplifier and a guitar foot pedal.

He is described as a short, heavy-set white male, and at the time was seen wearing a camouflage ball cap, blue short sleeve shirt, with white long sleeve undershirt and blue jeans. Police say the man has a "waddle" when he walks.

Police released video of the suspect from the casino's surveillance system.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
