ROCKY RIVER, OH (WOIO) -

Rocky River residents have been asked to voluntarily evacuate as a precaution.

The Rocky River is rising and there is a potential of flooding.

Rocky River police are going door to door, telling people to be on alert.  There are about 30 residents who live near the river.

Police are concerned about the people in the basin area: South Island, Riverdale and Yacht Drive.  They've been warned there is a significant ice jam beneath the Detroit Road Bridge and if that breaks, they are in big trouble.

Water has been coming up in the Metropark Marina rapidly during the last few hours, as a result.

A flash flood warning has been issued for Cuyahoga County until 1 a.m. Saturday.
