Traffic is reduced to one lane along Marshall St. in Shreveport at Fairfield Ave. while crews work to remove an 18-wheeler that got stuck under a railroad overpass Monday afternoon.
Police say the truck, owned by Schneider National, was hauling water.
The driver told police she thought she had clearance under the 12' bridge, and thought the noise she was hearing as she passed underneath was the train passing above. By the time she realized the trailer had hit the bridge, the damage was done.
The trailer will have to be offloaded on to another truck before the rig can be moved and the damaged trailer towed away.
There were no injuries and no citations are expected to be issued.
