Woman sentenced to 7 years in prison for buttocks injection murder

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Natasha Stewart, also known as Pebbelz Da Model, has been sentenced to serve seven years in prison after being charged with culpable negligence manslaughter in connection with a death from illicit silicone buttocks injections.

On January 31, a Hinds County jury found Stewart guilty of culpable negligence manslaughter in the death of Karima Gordon. She was also found guilty of conspiracy to commit manslaughter. The jury reached the verdict after deliberating four hours.

Stewart was found not guilty on wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Stewart was charged with arranging illicit silicone buttocks injections for Karima Gordon of Atlanta. Authorities say Stewart took $200 to refer Gordon to the alleged injector and falsely represented that the injector was a nurse.

Stewart testified that she thought the injector was a nurse and had gotten the injections herself more than 20 times.

Prosecutors say Gordon died from silicone in her lungs a few days after getting the shots in March 2012.
