CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto has advanced to the next round in MLB Network's #FaceofMLB contest.

Votto defeated Arizona Diamondbacks first basement Paul Goldschmidt 50.3 percent to 49.7 percent.

Votto had a first round bye before facing Goldschmidt.

The MLB Network is hosting a bracket-style contest via Twitter to determine a winner of the 'Face of Major League Baseball.'

In the next found, Votto will face either second basemen Chase Utley of the Philadelphia Phillies or pitcher Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners.

A bracket can be found here.
