A high speed chase involving a stolen truckended with a crash, that then turned into a foot chase.
Around 7 a.m. Sunday, Longviewpolice started chasing a suspected truck thief on Estes parkway.
"One of our officers saw it on Estesparkway. They went north on Eastman road and took several different roads andfinally ending in Hallsville," says Longview police officer Kristie Brian.
"I heard a loud boom and that kind ofgot me curious. We ran outside and saw the truck kind of bashed up," saysHallsville resident Kaliyah Johnson.
Arrest records show 27-year-old AltonDean Jester had a lengthy history of arrests, and had just been released fromthe Gregg county jail on evading arrest charges one week ago.
Witnesses told police that Jester took aturn so fast that he went airborne and crashed into a power pole.
"The right front side of the truck wascaved in completely," Johnson says.
Yet somehow, police say Jester was able toflee on foot, but was caught in a foot chase a short time later.
Jesterwas taken to Good Shepherd medical center in Longview to be checked out beforebeing jailed.
