Tucson firefighters responded to a fire near a south side school Thursday night.
Around a dozen firetrucks showed up at a warehouse next to Gallego Elementary School around 9:46 pm, near Campbell and Irvington to help put out the fire.
The Tucson Fire Department says it broke out in the yard of a storage and moving facility. The first fire crew said about 14 storage pods were heavily engulfed in flames. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the containers and keep it from spreading. It was under control by 10:20 pm.
Officials said the school was not harmed. There were no reported injuries. All the storage pods appeared to be empty.
The cause is under investigation, but TFD says the fire caused around $50,000 in damage.
