SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Four local men have been charged in connection with 2 home invasions and shootings reported earlier this week in west Shreveport that left 1 dead and 3 injured.

Shreveport police have identified the man killed as 25-year-old Sirdarren Jackson.

The shootings happened within 2 hours of each other Tuesday night. Police were first called to an apartment at Kings Manor in the 7200 block of Bernstein Avenue just after 10 p.m., where they found 18-year-old Kamesia Martin suffering 2 gunshot wounds. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She is currently listed in fair condition.

Little more than an hour after the home invasion and shooting at Kings Manor, officers responded to a report of shots fired at an apartment at Briarwood in the 4000 block of Golf Links Blvd. There, they found Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

In both cases, police say three suspects forced their way into the apartments, and in both cases, gunfire was exchanged.

At Briarwood, police say Sirdarren Jackson was one of the suspects. The two other suspects are reported to have been one male and one female. In that incident, the resident of the apartment, 20-year-old Tyrell Jackson, was grazed by a bullet in the exchange of gunfire, and a second suspect was also injured.

Police now say that second suspect was 19-year-old Lonnie Johnson. Johnson was arrested Thursday night just before officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 2500 block of Midway Ave. Police say it was a tip that led investigators to the home, and Johnson walked out with several others just as they arrived. He was taken to University Health Shreveport for a gunshot wound to the lower body. Once he is released from the hospital, he will be booked into the Shreveport City Jail, charged with attempted armed robbery and attempted first degree murder.

Arrested along with Johnson were 24-year-old Demarcus D. Morris, 22-year-old Eric J. Anderson and 25-year-old Christopher Williams. Those suspects, all of Shreveport, were booked into the Shreveport City Jail on 1 count each of accessory after the fact to attempted armed robbery.

During the search of the home on Midway Avenue, police say investigators found evidence linking the suspect Johnson to the home invasion at Kings Manor.

Martin is recovering at a local hospital. Detectives believe the residences on Bernstein Avenue and Golf Links Boulevard were specifically targeted by the offenders and were not random acts. Police say Johnson may face other charges and the investigation continues in an effort to identify and apprehend any other suspects involved.
