NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police say one suspect is in custody and another is on the run after crashing their car Thursday morning.

An officer tried to stop the car on Old Hickory Boulevard at Andrew Jackson Parkway just after midnight but says the suspects took off.

He radioed to another officer around a mile down the road, who put down spike strips.

The spike strips flattened two tires on the suspect's vehicle, and the suspect drove into a field off Saundersville Road just over the Wilson County line.

Police say the driver jumped out and took off, but the passenger was taken into custody.

There is no word on a description of the driver at this time.
