BARKSDALE AFB, LA (KSLA) -

Some F-16-C fighter jets spotted recently around Barksdale Air Force Base are here for a training exercise.

The visiting jets are from the 187th Fighter Wing based in Montgomery, AL. They're at BAFB for a Green Flag East training exercise, which is described as a realistic combat training exercise designed to replicate deployed warfare conditions.

BAFB is home to the 2d Bomb Wing, equipped with the B-52H Stratofortress bomber, where all Air Force Global Strike Command and Air Force Reserve Command B-52 crews are trained.

The training is expected to continue through January 28.
